Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Plan and prepare for supervising water well drilling operations
   • Access, interpret and apply water well drilling operations documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
   • Access, interpret clarify and ensure the application of the specific task information for the required outcomes
   • Prepare an operational plan, in consultation, which makes best use of the available resources and for the safe effective and efficient conduct of the operations
   • Identify the training requirements of team members and develop training plans
2. Initiate water well drilling operations
   • Acquire and make available the necessary resources
   • Issue clear and timely instructions to team members and others involved
   • Ensure compliance to training plans
3. Monitor, adjust, communicate and report on the execution of water well drilling operations
   • Monitor the execution of operations
   • Initiate adjustments to drilling practices or the operational plan to ensure safe, effective and efficient execution of the operations
   • Provide advice to team members to overcome operational problems encountered during the execution of drilling operations.
   • Ensure plant equipment and tools maintenance requirements are carried out and recorded
   • Ensure reports are completed and submitted
   • Recommend changes to improve the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of the execution of drilling operations.
